The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

I was in Arizona for th first time and decided to take this tour, I booked with 360 tour and Detours was the van that arrived. Joe was the guide an he was fabulous, very knowledgeable, frindly and very funny.. This was the first time I had been on an adventure like this especially alone, I really think Joe added to this experiance you can tell he has a great love and apprication for his job and this tour he was not just stating facts but he made them very interesting to hear about. I really wished there was a recording my kids would have loved it.. I would reccomend this tour and Joe to anyone and if I am ever in the area again I would love to take another Detours tour. Thank you Joe and detours for making my trip to the South Rim somthing I will never forget it as truly an amazng journey..

Great day, Steve was fantastic. he added a lot of information we would otherwise not have known. We added on the helicopter tour and it was well worth it.

Joe did a great job as our guide. He arrived at our hotel right on time and was thorough telling us what the day entailed. He is very knowledgeable of Arizona info and made the trip fun to listen to him. We debated doing this tour on our own and are so glad we chose DeTours to do the driving so we could sit back and just enjoy the day. It is well worth it. Joe also gave us suggestions for other places DeTours goes and if we had more time would to another. We will definitely use them on a return trip. The time at the Canyon is ample and we did some exploring on our own. We are so glad we did this memorable trip!Joe was engaging and personable.
