We visited MOMA on Saturday. We booked timed tickets ahead of time. The tickets ran about $18. We showed up early and joined a long line. There is a short line for museum members. FYI: museum membership is not very expensive. The museum is about six stories tall. The 6th floor is closed at the moment. The museum is overwhelming in size. Lots and lots of rooms with incredible artwork. I saw Starry Night by Van Goth. I found myself going into culture overload after an hour, there is so much to see! I particularly like the exhibits of iconic furniture and architectural styles. I have included a few photos. One lesson I learned from this visit. I think you need to see it in sequential visits, perhaps one floor at a time or one genre or period at a time. It was a great experience.

Quick process to obtain tickets and discount for son as a uni student , so take proof as saves around $10. No queues to enter when we arrived. Everywhere was very clean. We do not pretend to be knowledgeable on art, but, we had a great time wandering all the exhibits and there are plentiful benches to sit as you go around and elevators and escalators to get to each floor easily. We enjoyed a coffee at the end of the visit in the garden area, sadly it was closed off for work, so we couldn't walk around, but a nice spot for a drink and not too expensive. There is of course a gift shop inside the museum and also a separate location opposite.

If you want to end the afternoon with a pit in your stomach the size of a blackhole and an utter hatred of humanity I recommend a visit to MOMA. First things first the collection is incredible. Yes the art is beautiful and moving, and pollock, Matisses are worth the somethingteen dollars to see. However the complete disregard for any sort of humanity of the visitor or too the sanctity of the masterworks in the museum is utterly baffling. First things first they should limit the amount of people being omitted. It was utterly packed with tourists taking selfies and pictures of the art. It was impossible to look at something for five minutes with out someone standing infront of it. Every room is extremely loud.I think the museum would benefit from a limit of people attending and stricter policies on phone and shouting in the museum. I am disabled and requested a moveable seat which they only had one of. Due to the awkward flow of the crowd I felt like I was going to be knocked down at any moment. I can't imagine what it would be like if I needed a wheelchair. Also no hate to the people visiting or the workers, just overpacking the museum made for a horrible viewing experience. If you don't like art but somehow have the desire to take a selfie infront of a Rothko, then it probably wouldn't be that bad. Its clear the institution only cares about their members. They don't care about the art, the history, and they definitely don't care about you.
