My two college sons and I honestly had the time of our life at the Grand Canyon, thanks to Bob, the former stare trooper who gave an educational yet thoroughly fun, interactive, and highly personalized tour.
It’s hard to explain the depth of my appreciation because at least one of us arrived pretty skeptical of a tour by a canyon “ministry”. But by the end, one son said to me “It really exceeded my expectations, and it was such a good time that you cannot put it into words. The company was so good it made it feel like you were friends for 10 years”, and the other said “Bob was a really great tour guide!” I have to agree.
The spots we visited were not merely beautiful but ideal for explaining the evidence of the geological history of the Canyon and discussing competing theories for understanding what was before our eyes and how it was produced. Bob also weaved in Bible verses, together with the scientific evidence, that I hadn’t realized to support his views. (Good job, Bob…I’m sure he didn’t realize I was checking many of his references real-time!) Lots of insight and food for thought. We also received a beautiful book with the tour.
At the end, Bob gave us a ride back to Williams so we got to pepper him with more questions and even heard some stories of his days as a trooper! Boys LOVED the time, and hugged him at the end…so what I say but 5+ STARS!
