The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

This has to be the highlight of our vacation. Simply wonderful and beautiful. The flight was amazing and dog camp a treat to visit. The crew made the day so special.

Oh my … this was the PERFECT DAY to do this once-in-lifetime helicopter trip with Josh Barcher and team at Alaska Helicopter Tours!!! Not only was Josh a great pilot and guide, Theron safely drove us from our hotel to the site in Palmer. Emilia is a superstar Musher and taught us all about the Iditarod-champion, sled dogs whom she introduced to us and taught the four of us to mush the team as we took turns mushing and riding on the Alaskan tundra! Following the sledding, we met all the dogs and two “pups in training.” So fun! On the way back, Josh landed the copter on a lower glacier where we viewed gorgeous crevices with aquamarine water falling hundreds of feet below the glacier surface. Do we recommend this 2-hour tour? Yes … a hundred times “yes!” The entire team was “safety first” at all times … and their personalities and expertise sealed the deal!! Lisa and Van

Michael was an excellent pilot and gave us an amazing ride to and from the glacier. The dog sledding was another great time. The mushers, dogs, and puppies were incredible! Would do this trip again hands down
