My husband and I did the tour on the north side and had a wonderful time. The vendors we visited were delicious and we loved the focus they had on sustainability. We returned to the general store (gas station) the following day for dinner and plan on ordering from Mikeys Dried Fruits in the future!!!

We started the tour at Verde restaurant and were greeted by Shane. We tasted great food and Rachel joined us with information about the chef and the food we were eating. From there we went to the farmers market and learned a lot about local farmers and the food. We toured a college farm and it all was really interesting. the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Really a great way to spend 3 hours in Kauai.

From our initial meeting with Susan to our concluding stop at Uncle Mikey’s, my wife and I had a wonderful time. Starting with our first experience with organic kombucha, we were impressed. I chose the blueberry/basil and it was delicious. (I mixed it later with Tanquerey gin, and I will keep my kombucha separate from my favorite gin.) Just across the street we sampled a fresh and tasty sushi wrap. Oh so good! We drove to the Pharmacy next and enjoyed a brief presentation and then sampled lots of tinctures and honeys and other natural veggie products. Next we drove down to lovely Hanalei for poi tasting plus pulled pork and lomi lomi salmon. Some brief picture taking opportunities and then back to the Princeville Shopping Center for an absolutely scrumptious fresh grass fed burger and fries. Darren the owner/host was so generous with his time and his food samplings. Just across the parking lot to Uncle Mikey’s for delicious dried fruit tastings. His witty banter is priceless. Our small party of eight all loved Mikey and his organic processing of the local fruit. Susan was a fine hostess; very knowledgeable and fun to be with. This Taste of Kauai excursion was our most favorite. The previous owner’s farm tour and meal was great; this one was absolutely the best.......we’ll worth the ticket price. Bill & Kathleen Maffett
