There isn’t a better deal out there. Experience captain and guide. Made sure to keep us warm on a cool day with jackets, hot chocolate, and complimentary toboggan. Got us up close and personal with manatees. The BEST.

The boat coats, hand warmers and hats keep you warm, the hot chocolate and baked goodies warm you from the inside out and the pictures will hopefully make you smile every time you look at them. Thanks to our guides, Wendy and Vince (and the manatees, of course), this was such an amazing experience. They took us straight to where the the manatees were that morning. The boat ride there was beautiful, and we also got to see a few dolphins that were following the boat. Since we went on the 7:00am trip, we had the whole boat, the guides, and the manatees all to ourselves! Who could ask for anything more? I would highly recommend taking this tour with Wendy and Vince. You will not be disappointed! As an aside, we stayed at the Day’s Inn, which was just across the parking lot. Literally a two-minute walk. I was told that if we come again, to book the Days Inn through Crystal River Watersports for an added discount. The accommodations were not the most luxurious, but certainly convenient!

The area is so beautiful, and as you experience, you never know which animal or bird may make an appearance on your tour! Our eco-tour down the small Indian River, and Crystal River gives the opportunity so see some of the beautiful, unspoiled portions of Florida,. and then of course- manatees can't be beat as swimming companions!. We toured with Don and Captain Larry on Jan. 2, 2020. They were both very knowledgable and focused on non-intrusive behavior around the manatees. They expertly guided us to two locations that both had a number of manatee. One was a cove where 30 or so manatees were sleeping and feeding. Our 11yo and 14yo kids had an amazing experience! Don stayed in the water with us the entire time we were snorkeling. He guided us and gave us cues and tips on how to behave for the best experience. We were also super happy to be able to purchase a jump drive with 300 photos taken by Don during our trip. We highly recommend these guides!

Thanks so much for choosing Crystal River Watersports for your tour, and for taking the time to write such a terrific review! Larry and Don are great, and we are lucky to have them on staff. We are delighted that you enjoyed the tour, and your swim with the manatees. Don does an amazing job with pictures, and many people find that it is worth spending the $30 for the manatee thumbdrive with pictures because it means that you can just enjoy the tour, and the experience of swimming with the manatees and don't have to be concerned with trying to get "the perfect shot". We include 170 of our best pictures from throughout the year, about a dozen of the best videos, and of course all of the photos taken on your particular tour. While guests are welcome to bring their own cameras and take their own photos, many are relieved to know that they don't have to buy an underwater camera, case for their phone or anything else. Thank you again for the lovely review, and we are so happy that you enjoyed your experience swimming with the manatees.
