We had a group of 8 friends take the tour, and were joined by about 10 others. We loved that the tour attracted people of all ages. We enjoyed learning about the history of the building (beautifully restored), the Rieger family, and the distilling process. The tasting at the end was delicious and gave us a chance to interact with others on the tour. Afterward, our group went upstairs to the Monogram Lounge for additional cocktails and appetizers. It was a great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon.
Note that you will spend a few minutes in the barrel rickhouse, which they warn you is not climate controlled and can be warm or cold depending on the weather. It was very, very warm when we were there. I would recommend dressing in layers so you can doff or don a jacket as necessary.
Knuckleheads is just across the railroad tracks to the north, and would be fun destination after the J. Rieger tour.
