My wife and I took the Downcity Food Tour last Friday, April 26th. We met at noon on a cold and wet day, but the tour guide and her "guide in training" did an amazing job to bouy our sprites and warm us up with a brisk walk between venues. Among my favs were the Chawda and Clam Cakes from Dune Brother's, the amazing donuts from Knead, and the fries from Friskie Fries. But then again you could not go wrong with the fare at Yolens's (Greek) and the Malted Barley (crafted beer and pretzels to die for). But the best was Gracie's where we had desert. We will be back to each of these venues for more in the future.

This food tour was exceptionally well done. The knowledgeable and personable tour guide, Paige, provided insight into the historical aspects as well the current new construction plans for this area of Providence known as DownCity. But of course it was the variety of venues and tasting options that contributed to the 5 star rating. The combination of savory and sweet ensured delicious selections and meeting some of the managers in a few of the restaurants was also enjoyable.Paige guided the tour in a relaxed manner while ensuring timely visits to each venue. We opted for the beer and wine tastings as well, and look forward to returning to some of these sites in the future.

Had a really enjoyable tour and tasting of downtown Providence. We had Jenny as a tour guide. She was very knowledgeable in regard to the city and the restaurants we visited. All the food was very well prepared and was delicious. It was a nice group of people on the tour and we all had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend taking this tour. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon.
