Great experience. We selected this company as it was closest to us, economical and did not need reservations. The airboat ride was wonderful. They are renovating the spot, as they should, but the the renovation was very loud. So while we waited for about 20 minutes we were unable to talk. it was interesting to watch though. The ride was about an hour and Jimbo, our captain, was great. We saw osprey, an iguana, about 5 alligators, cranes, tons of birds and learned about the Everglades. Jimbo circled each animal so both sides could see it and then moved on to provide the least amount of trauma to the animal. I appreciate that. The boat was covered and it rained a bit and we were dry. Birds kept landing on the top. We were out of the sun and the airboat was quieter - as some others on the boat mentioned this was different than other rides. Although we couldn’t look forward as a result, we missed nothing. The alligators were CLOSE, AKA within 1 foot of the boat. There were 14 people on the boat so we could slide from side to side to see things. He mentioned that sometimes there are 26 on the boat. We then went to see the show. It was a bit different with only 14 in the audience that can hold up to 250, but it was interesting nonetheless. A little cheesy at points, but he was personable and informative. With the tips for the airboat ride and the show, both mentioning this was their only source of income, the experience was pricier than anticipated.

The show was amazing!!! And unlike one negative reviewer who said they had to pay $60 for five people to watch the show is total BS. THE ALLIGATOR SHOW IS FREE! If you want to take a airboat tour then you must pay for that, of course. Since I was with my elderly mother who is terrified of water and my beloved Chihuahua, we skipped the airboat ride. With my Chihuahua safely inside her stroller we stood right next to the fence while Chris Gillette put on a fabulous show. At the end he took a few questions and stated that donations are not required but welcomed. They did ask for a donation for getting your photo taken with a baby gator. I believe it was only a few dollars. Of course, my mother loved that and got a great photo with "Sponge Bob". He wasn't tiny but probably 3 feet long. I can't recall but I think Chris said he was 2 years old. Not sure. That was in 2013. Sponge Bob is probably now huge and not privy to selfies but he was that day. The photo opportunity was well worth it. Sponge Bob was so sweet he even fell asleep. :-) The care and love for the alligators is truly apparent here. As a 20+ year vegan and diehard lover of animals. I am always watching for any sign of abuse or neglect when I am out and about. The people who have created this alligator rescue are amazing. The care and attention they provide the gators is what you'd expect in a 5-star hotel. Rescues like this deserve all the donations they can get. They depend on donations to continue. It's not cheap to feed an alligator and they have many! Plus, vet care, equipment, transportation, etc. all costs money and lots of it. They bring in injured or sick gators rehabilitate them and release them back into the wild. Some are unable to be released for various reasons thus, have a life long home at the rescue, being treated like a king or queen. Alligators have a bad reputation and shouldn't. They're amazing creatures and if you've never been up close to one then you must. Alligators are living dinosaurs and deserve our help and attention just as any other animal. Donating to the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue is tax deductible. The more you give the more you can deduct. Always, say no to items made from alligator skins or body parts. Save an alligator from being skinned alive for ugly handbags, boots, and belts or from being served in a restaurant. Keep them in the wild and keep rescues like this one alive and doing whatever they can to protect the beautiful and powerful alligator. Please donate and tell others. I recorded the show and posted it on Vimeo. On Vimeo search for the exact phrase with hyphen, Gator Boys - Alligator Show

We had a great time. Guide (Rocky) was knowledgeable about the Everglades, Gators and Birds. He kept us entertained. I wish we could have seen more gators but there were a few who came up to visit and obviously they have no control over that aspect. Definitely with the money.
