We were in New York city the week of October 12-19 2024 celebrating my 60th birthday. We took the One day New York Highlights City tour. It was an all day tour. It was amazing and I would recommend it to everyone! If you are in New York for a short or long visit, this is the perfect tour to acquaint you with the city and see so many attractions in one day. We saw even more than the description stated. Most of the tour is walking and there is a lot of walking so I wouldn't recommend it to someone who cannot walk. We also got to experience the Subway which was amazing. We started out in Times Square. We saw a few churches and interesting buildings on our way to St Peter's Cathedral. We saw 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, NBC studios, the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. We then went into Grand Central Station and took the Subway down to the Financial District where we saw the NY Stock Exchange and the famous bull as well as many other important buildings. We saw the Brooklyn Bridge and took the ferry to Staten Island. From the ferry we were able to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in the distance. We then made our way to ground zero and saw the memorial and then headed to the One World Observatory which was the highlight of the tour. What an extraordinary building! The only thing I will say is that when you purchase the tickets for the tour there is an option to purchase tickets to go up into the Observatory. These tickets are very expensive and we found out when we got there that the tickets could be purchased there for$40-65. I wouldn't buy the Observatory tickets with the tour, I would just buy them when you're there. I've saved the best for last. What made our tour extra special was Jim, our Tour Guide. He had a vast amount of knowledge about the city and stopped us all through the day to point out tidbits and interesting facts that we otherwise may not have noticed. The tour lasted a little longer than stated, we were gone from 9:30 in the morning and didn't get back to our hotel until 6:30 in the evening, but it was well worth it! We enjoyed the tour immensely! Thank you Jim for a wonderful experience!

Thanks to our guide (Jim), we did not only hear facts, but listened to the stories of the Statue of Liberty Englightening the World and of the hopes and tears of the immigrants at Ellis island .

Our guide, Jim, shared detailed insights into the Statues of Liberty and the history of Ellis Island in our tour from Downtown Manhattan to Liberty and Ellis Islands. I learned so much and really enjoyed the tour. Thank you, Jim and Experience First!
