On this breathtaking Safari you'll take a 60 minute boat ride out to the Davidson Glacier filled with the potential for wildlife including whales, bald eagles, sea lions, and mountain goats! Once docked, you'll take a short hike (1/4 mile) to our canoes and then you'll make your way out to the glacier itself! Prepare yourself to take in the sheer immensity and majesty of the Davidson Glacier. You can't have any experience like this anywhere else.

On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rain forests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares his extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After returning to the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your return trip on the custom designed wildlife-viewing boat .

A group of us took this excursion while on a cruise . We absolutely loved it . We met downtown Skagway right off the cruise ship dock . From there we boarded a sightseeing vessel which was spacious and had great windows for viewing . The hour ride out to base camp is amazing . The boat crew was extremely informative and friendly . Captain Jim was as cool as a cucumber . He stopped several times along the way for us to take pictures of waterfalls , wild life , nature , etc ! Once we got to base camp we met our guides who were ALL out of this world AWESOME !!!! MAJOR SHOUT OUTS TO JAKE and ELISE( thanks for the lift Elise 😜) who both went out of their way to make sure we were safe, comfortable and had a great experience . Lunch was simple but good. Turkey sandwich , trail mix, apple sauce and a water . Perfect snack to keep up the energy while hiking and paddling . ***Also a added bonus and unique part of the experience was picnicking in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness . 👍🏼 The canoe ride out to the glacier is absolutely breathtaking . Once the canoe lands at the beach you get to hike up to Davidson glacier which is superb . I highly recommend this excursion with this company . They are friendly , fun , knowledgable , exciting , adventurous and safe .

The ride out to Glacier Point was worth the cost alone never mind the interpretive tour and Glacier.

First, Micah the canoe guide was fantastic. He even above and beyond to accomodate requests and make the experience memorable. We had a boat ride to a remote beach where we were outfitted with the gear we needed. During the ride, the staff was entertaining and informative. We then walked through some beautiful pristine woods with lessons on what berries you can eat, and which ones will kill you! Then the canoe trip to the glacier itself. When we got back, I would have turned around and gone again if they would let me. During the boat ride back to the cruise terminal, the staff on the boat very wisely said that they knew most guests were tired so they wouldn't be standing and speaking, but were open for questions. I"m looking forward to trying a different excursion with this group.
