Hale Hoaloha Luau at the Mauna Lani

The luau is held at the beautiful Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort at Kalāhuipuaʻa, which is a historical area where ancient Hawaiians mastered the art of aquaculture and where King Kamehameha came to recuperate and work in the fishponds.

Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. After the activities, watch as the pig is taken out of the traditional imu pit before it is prepared for the Hawaiian buffet.

The program is capped off by a performance of traditional and modern Hula dances, along with the spectacular Samoan Siva Afi (fire knife dance).

Hale Hoaloha Luau at the Mauna Lani

The Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau is a celebration of the beauty and stories of the land area known as Kalāhuipuaʻa. Considered the “piko” (center) of the majestic mountains of Haleakalā, Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualālai, the Mauna Lani is a special place to all who have the privilege of enjoying its beauty. Traditionally, lūʻaus are important family celebrations with a feast of favorite foods, sharing of moʻolelo (story telling), mele (music) and hula. Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau brings together all of these while sharing Mauna Laniʻs majestic history and the true essence of aloha, ʻohana (family) and kuleana (responsibility) with everyone in attendance.

Very professional, delicious food, activities that allow you to be involved in the experience, and very good entertainment from the singers to the dancers.

This was such an exceptional experience!! The food was so delicious. My husband is on a pescatarian diet and there were plenty of fish and vegetarian dishes for him! We had our own personal table just with our family. The Luau show was amazing! Loved the story telling and background information prior to the dances. The fire dancer was spectacular.

From the moment we were greeted we felt the warm spirit of aloha. Excellent food and friendly customer service from the wait staff. Probably the best lu'au food I've ever had! The show was heartwarming and captivating. Performers were beautifully dressed and looked liked they were having lots of fun on stage. There wasn't a dull moment from start to finish. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.
