Experience the most amazing views in all of Hawai'i: the sunrise atop Haleakala! After sunrise, you will leisurely ride custom Kona bikes from 6,500 ft. down the mountain for 20 miles of pure joy! We do the Switchbacks twice! before shuttling you down to Makawao to finish the bike ride to Haiku.

• Not be pregnant
• Not weigh over 270 lbs.

Our experience with Bike Maui was awesome. The check in and rental process were both smooth. They have fleece vests, raincoats, helmets, and backpacks to borrow. They go over safety procedures before you get on the bus and reiterate them on the ride up. Like everyone says, it is extremely cold at the top while waiting for the sunrise. It remains fairly chilly as you ride down from the breeze/speed of biking down (and we went on a beautiful, sunny day). We took our time biking down, stopping every so often to take in the view. There aren’t many cars until you reach the local roads and even then 99% of drivers are very considerate about sharing the road. Our guide and driver was Billy. He was kind, prioritized everybody’s safety, and had the best dad jokes. I wasn’t feeling super confident about biking down; however Billy reassured us that he wouldn’t be far behind us for the first hour upon releasing us in case we wanted to drive down instead of biking. We would definitely recommend this tour - it was worth it and the sunrise was a beautiful sight.

We had a great time. Our guide Billy gave a great tour and brief history of the island and its mythology, and also gave us excellent practical preparation for the bike trip down. Sunrise is worth the trip, and the bike ride down is beautiful and fun.
