The Bitterroot National Forest is an incredibly beautiful and rugged place with amazing mountains and deep glacial canyons. The trails are not always well maintained, and often times seasonal creeks will deter folks who aren't used to water crossings. You'll be glad you brought a guide along!

The hike and packraft float is an experience unique to Bitterroot Backpacking. You will not find any other guide or company providing this service! (And if you do, they probably found the idea here!)

Luke was very personable & knowledgeable. He provided thoughtful snacks & a yummy lunch. He would give scientific names to the landscapes/ mountains, show the markings on the mountains from glaciers. The FLOATING was amazing, being on a beautiful body of water & surrounded by extreme beauty was amazing. I will definitely hike with Luke again!

Luke was very professional , knowledgeable and very understanding of our personal physical abilities. We had so much fun and he made our 8 hours to bitterroot hike the most amazing experience we had in Montana and one we will never forget We highly recommend Luke .
