Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

Thrill of a life to see these precious humpback whales. Captain Joardan knew how to spot them and carefully navigate around them so we could get the best view without disturbing them. After being on a crowded cruise ship, our family was so happy to be on his 6-passenger boat at almost eye level with these creatures. He and his wife run a wonderful family business. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

The tour was a small group, our tour guide was so very friendly and worked hard to make this amazing experience as memorable as possibles. It was like whale watching with a friend.

What a great experience we had with Jordan. We saw humpback whales, sea otters, seals, porpoises, sea lions, bald eagles, and brown bear. Jordan grew up in the area and was able to answer a plethora of questions about the wildlife, fishing and the quaint town of Icy Straight Point. The tour was small enough to be personalized and even came with hot chocolate and snacks. Awesome!!
