All guests must check-in at 5:30 pm at the Aloali'i Cultural Resource Center, located in the lobby of the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel, on the day of the luau, to exchange their mobile or paper ticket for their entry wristbands.

We’ve been to a couple other Hawaiian Luaus & this one was better in some ways. Food was great. Much smaller crowd which we liked. Show was good but more on the comedic side. Lots of filler between hula dances. If you’re looking for great food and a funny show, this is the one. If you’re looking for more dancing & more “traditional” and serious try the Voyagers of the Pacific. Food wasn’t as good at that one though.

The show was very entertaining. The host & performers were quite spectacular. The open bar was average, with a very limited beverage selection. The Mai Tais were nearly tasteless. The food choices were good, but the preparation was subpar. The short ribs were very tough. Had to be cut in tiny pieces to eat. Other dishes were just okay, and everything was luke warm at best. Salads & desserts were acceptable. Food quality & taste just didn't match up to the wonderful presentation & setting.

Ask upfront if there's a theme. We don't celebrate Christmas, but many of the performances were Christmas related. The food was average to subpar. The kailua pork and bbq chicken was tasty, but the mac and cheese was not good. They had nuggets and potato wedges! I could've had this at home. Also, there was a long break after the children's performance and the ritual observance. We left after that. The show just did not hold our interest. I did think the venue was beautiful. I just think for the price, it wasn't worth it if I'm comparing it to the one I went to last year in Oahu. Plus, we had to pay $10 for a lei that should've been included in the pricing. I think we deserve a refund.
