Next, we'll cross Juneau's sole bridge to Douglas Island. Pause at Homestead Park for a scenic vista over the Gastineau Channel. Take in the waterfront platform, perfect for capturing the Capital city at the base of Mt Juneau with your cruise ship in the foreground.

We'll visit "Takhu," Juneau's impressive 40-foot sculpture of a breaching whale. Though it's a bronze statue, in your photos, it appears vibrant and lifelike, perfect for sharing with loved ones and sparking captivating tales of how close you came to a whale.

Also known as Brotherhood Bridge Park, this stop provides you with a viewpoint of the Mendenhall Glacier in the distance (weather permitting). Set at on the banks of the Mendenhall River, you will be impressed with the beauty of Mendenhall Valley.

Our tour guide Sally was overly friendly and shared irrelevant personal information about herself, criticism about home’s dilapidated condition and inquiring about who was voting for former president Trump. I paid for a tour of Juneau and although we did receive that there was a lot of commentary about her lack of funds and that she has a free condo with her job and inquiring about other passengers leaving her money upon their death-in jest. Sally’s over friendliness continued even at the end where each passenger was required to hug her.

Thank you for taking the time to send in a review of your tour. We apologize for the experience you had with Sally! She did NOT follow protocol and thought she could make up her own tour to suit what she thought would make a good experience. It was NOT the product we trained her to give or directed her to do on a daily basis. Because of this we have decided to part way's with Sally. All of us are deeply disappointed with her behavior! We have refunded you fully for the price of your tour.

The whole excursion was a little strange. While our driver was a pleasant and engaging person, she was NOT local and had exceptionally limited knowledge about Juneau basics. Sally explained that she had applied for this job online and the tour company provided a car and a condo across the river. When members of the tour asked questions, she rarely knew the answers and generally responded with reminders that she was not an Alaskan, had been there for less than 2 months, and wouldn’t know. For some reason, we rode up through a neighborhood on the mountain side over Juneau to look at a hoarder’s house and another with a tumble down porch and were offered opportunities to stop and photograph them. As we returned to the city, a man with dementia and his wife asked to be let off at a random corner, and they walked away with the wife crying while our guide pointed out some city flower arrangements. We did not cross the bridge to Douglas or visit the park to view Juneau. The scenic stop to view Mendenhall Glacier was gorgeous. We stopped to view a whale sculpture and take photos, but were told things were running behind, so we might not be able to leave the van. We did get out, and when we returned the van was completely full because the driver offered some hitch hikers a ride back to the city. I’m quite perplexed about the whole thing. Sally is a lovely person, but s local tour guide she is not. We learned more about Sally than about Juneau. Given our bizarre experience, I really can’t recommend this tour.

Thank you for taking the time to send us this difficult review. Sally broke ALL protocol and delivered a tour we neither approved of nor trained her on. She decided to do what SHE thought would make a good product. We have decided to end her employment with us. I am sorry you had to endure her, period. We have refunded you fully for the cost of your tour. Again, we apologize for your experience.
