HIGHLY RECOMMEND this AWESOME whale watching tour! Captain Josh is extremely knowledgeable about all the wildlife in Alaska. Cruise line excursions have an agenda, when a whale is spotted, they all rush to view the whale, 30 minutes later, they move on to the next wildlife sighting, and shortly after that, they make their way back to the ship. Captain Josh, on the other hand, does not follow the ship tours, he follows nature (a BIG difference). Once he gets close to the whales, he sends up his drone with 25x zoom to watch the whales in their natural habitat, while we are watching from the boat. We got to see five whales joined by a seal, swimming and playing together, which was something the other ships missed because they had an agenda and had already left. Captain Josh then spotted approximately 30 sea otters playing in the kelp, some with little babies. He got some incredible footage of them relaxing and playing around. We saw a number of sea lions in their natural habitat playing around, and on our way back, we saw many porpoises and whale spouts! As we approached the dock, Josh spotted a Bald Eagle perched on top of a tree, WOW! Throughout our time spent with Josh, he educated and enlightened us on so many things related to the sea life that we encountered. He also shared many fun facts about black bears and brown bears. When we returned, we purchased a USB with all of the drone footage captured that day. Once we were back on our cruise ship, we were amazed at the incredible footage captured. Every time we view it or show our friends, we are reminded of what an extraordinary experience this was with Captain Josh. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!
