Whale watching in the wild and pristine waters of Icy Strait, where Humpback whales are abundant and sighted on every trip, with small business owner Captain Josh! Otter and Steller Sea Lions are also very common, with Orcas, Brown Bears, and other wildlife frequently sighted!

Owned and operated by our own Captain Josh, he will be your personal guide as he navigates the wilderness waters of Icy strait. What makes his tours special is the energy he has and the creative ways he finds to show you his beloved wildlife, so that you can really see and appreciate these creatures with him, and to make every tour amazing.

His 14 passenger vessel was designed specifically for whale watching on Alaska's waters, and will provide a safe and stable viewing platform for you. He also provides the one truly Drone-integrated whale watching tour in the world, providing you with views and videos of wildlife that are truly unique, and at the end of it, you get to take the footage from your tour home!

Excellent tour! Captain Josh is very knowledgeable and knew where to go to see whales and other wildlife. We saw bears, seals, otters, an orca and many humpback whales. The icing on the cake was the drone that got closer to the bears, and aerial views of the whales in the water. We will treasure the drone pics and videos. Awesome experience thanks to Captain Josh!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Captain Josh and Andrew aboard the Rip Tide. TLDR: do yourself a favour and book this experience. You won’t regret it. It was a gorgeous September afternoon and we couldn’t have asked for more in terms of a guide and what we saw. We went out and were lucky enough to view a pod of humpback whales, see some sea lions sunbathing, view sea otters playing, and watch a pod of orcas up close. One of the orcas even played with Captain Josh and a rope on the boat. The drone footage will be an exceptional feature to this memory. It truly was an outstanding experience from start to finish, helmed by professionals who radiate passion for what they do.

We were very impressed with all the wildlife we saw. A dozen hump back whales, 4 to 5 orcas very close to our boat, sea lions and otters! Granted it was a better than average day, but what a great captain & crew to enjoy our time with.
