Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

The show was really great—highly entertaining and the cast is really talented. An authentic experience that will be remembered for years to come. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. As many others have commented, it’s sub-par so don’t expect to be blown away. Also, there’s too much downtown between gates opening (which you’ll want to arrive early for in order to ensure a good seat at your assigned table) and the start of the show. It was also really humid/hot within the pavilion—not anybody’s fault, but something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to this.

Beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff, service was great. The round trip transportation was definitely worth it since the alcohol was included in the price. We paid for the train ride but then didn't do it because we were rushing to make it to the train. We decided to explore the area and the vendors instead. Would have liked more time. Also, I thought we'd be able to go to the rum store but we didn't have time for that either. Aside from that, the show was fantastic. Very informative. Told a store and had many scenes like a play but with hula in almost every act. Food was also fantastic and the mixed drinks were delicious and strong!

The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. The food was well prepared and very tasty. The show was excellent. It was a good length and very interesting.
