Манта Магиц - Ноћна ронилица Манта Раи у селу Манта, Кона, Хаваји

Преглед
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

I would truly recommend this experience because you can see a lot of mantas and they look amazing, with calm sea and nice weather. But I think it’s a bit irresponsible to get out to the sea with huge waves we had when we went. It was too windy, cold and waves were huge. We took the afternoon trip so we had also an hour to fill with snorkeling (there is not much to see during the day, only when manages come it gets interesting). So it wasn’t funny at all to snorkel for an hour in open sea, with big waves and cold weather. We snorkeled for 5 minutes (everybody on the boat stayed in the water up to 10 min). Then we spent the remaining 50 minutes freezing on the small boat waiting for the mantas to come. And they came, but you can be in the water maybe 10-15 minutes, then you start cramping and shaking from the cold. My husband was so sea sick the whole time, so we really didn’t enjoy something that could have been amazing. He also hurt himself badly getting back onto the boat, because the turned off propeller touched his rib cage because of the rough sea... I think this particular trip should have been postponed or refunded because it is pure torture in case of bad weather.

We went out with Frank and Caleb last evening. Fabulous! Saw 4 or more mantas (often at the same time!) The mantas hung out with us for about an hour. Crew provided shortie wetsuits, Snorkel gear, drinks, snacks. Water was about 80 degrees, cool but not cold. This was a bucket list item for us, and I was a little nervous, but once in the water, that all went away and we just hung onto the light board and enjoyed the magic show!

The folks who work here and run this company really respect and love marine life, and that's very important to me. At the same time, they make sure we, their customers, have a great experience. They have patience and knowledge to work with people who've never snorkeled before and also work well with experienced snorkelers. We went In June, on the late nite Manta Ray snorkel and at first, didn't see any Manta Rays. We hung out for a while and I was getting ready to convince myself that we wouldn't see the rays and, unfortunately, that's just part of the risk we take when viewing nature (they do reschedule, but we didn't have the time). But, the crew didn't give up and decided to move us to a different location. We got back in the boat, took a quick ride, and went to our new location. WOW! So glad they did that! We saw about 8 rays and hung out there and watched them for quite a while. It was an amazing experience. One important point: The water does get cold, especially since you aren't moving, but staying in one place and hanging on to a paddle board. So make sure you have a full wet suit. I highly recommend going with Hawaii Oceanic. It was the best part of our trip to the Big Island!
