Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

If you're deciding between the evening manta magic and the night manta magic - highly recommend the night tour - It was a rare and incredible experience! The crew (Caleb and Frank) were amazing and very knowledgeable. They were also very accommodating - if you're feeling nervous they'll provide you with a noodle. We really liked the smaller boat size. There are fewer boats out in the water during the later hours so we saw numerous mantas gliding close to us - it was unreal! Overall it was an amazing experience and would highly recommend Hawaii Oceanic! If you're on the Big Island this is a must do!

One of the best experiences of my LIFE!!! I can't really swim,... but, I was assured that with the wetsuit and a floating noodle,... everything would be great. Guess what? It was FANTASTIC!!! Captain Frank and Caleb,... super cool dudes!!! Very knowledgeable and the trip was super fantastic! We started with some time to snorkel around the area at our leisure before sundown. After that we all held onto the surfboard where we saw manta rays doing barrel rolls just under us almost skimming our wetsuits. Would highly recommend this company. Everything from snorkels, wetsuits, photos underwater and beverages were included to ensure we could just relax and focus on the incredible experience.

This trip is a must I gotta say. First off, the crew: Chad and his first mate Keoki were excellent at explaining all details, making us feel comfortable and introducing us to the world of manta rays! The trip itself was great, we had opportunity to do a really good snorkeling before the evening fell (we went on the earlier tour) and once sun had set, the magic began and we got to see several mantas, all of them doing back-flips (a really cool behavior), while one big 8-foot manta did a triple flip under our board!! :) Definitely reccomended!
