Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Our night Manta snorkel was cancelled last minute-- we actually didn't find out until we were at the dock waiting for our boat. It was a very sad surprise-- I called and Jason immediately refunded us and then since we were flying home the next day he scrambled and was able to get us on a different boat with an entirely different company for the SAME night. Who knows how many phone calls he had to make to make at 7:30-8 o'clock at night. He kept us updated the entire time by calling me back with frequent updates. We ended up having a wonderful experience and his effort to ensure that we didn't miss out was one of the most amazing customer service experiences I have ever had. Thank you Hawaii Oceanic for being committed to your guests.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Frank and Caleb were incredibly knowledgeable and did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and had an awesome time. The evening started with 40 minutes where we were given to snorkel around the area at our leisure. After that we all held onto the surfboard where we saw 6 manta rays doing barrel rolls 5cm from our face. Would highly recommend this company. Everything from snorkels, wetsuits, photos underwater and beverages were included to ensure we could just relax and focus on the incredible experience.

Captain Frank and Caleb were fantastic guides and hosts. Informative, funny, passionate and safety conscious. We did the 4:30 run which had just the right amount of free range snorkeling, sunset viewing with snacks and beverages with a brief presentation on the Manta Ray and then the Manta Ray encounter. The Manta Rays got so close to us it nearly took my breath away. They glide out of the darkness and into the lit up plankton, sometimes barreling two, three and more times right in front of you. Unforgettable! ps. It’s the less expensive tour, too. :)
