This was a great cruise for viewing the glacier, but the wildlife viewing left a lot to be desired. Perhaps it was just the day, but we saw one raft of sea otters, one bald eagle, a two whales diving and a few seals on the icebergs. Maybe that sounds like a lot, but after visiting Kodiak and Denali a few days earlier, and Kenai Fjords on our last trip to Alaska, this just was not that much.
But, the viewing of Meares glacier was awesome, we even saw it calve twice. The captain cut the engines so we could enjoy the silence.
The crew is fantastic and really made sure we were comfortable. Both the lunch and afternon soup were yummy. There were a lot of kids running around, bumping into everybody, yelling and screaming and I wish they would've told them to stop, when the parents certainly didn't (FYI, when my kids were that age, I would've never let them run wild like that).
All in all a good cruise, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the wildlife viewing was just OK.
