Unfortunately this trip wasn't worth the time nor the effort.
We booked on to the 2.35pm tour, departing from Downtown Miami. Despite reaching the pick-up point 15 minutes before departure (per the instructions), the bus didn't turn up until 3.30 pm.
When we finally got to the Everglades it was 5pm and we went on a boat trip that didn't even last 30 mins. The boat captain was rushing through this element of the tour as we around an hour late. Whilst we appreciate sightings can't be guaranteed, we were disappointed to not see any alligators in the wild (and this was because the sun was setting when we were on the boat and the alligators no longer needed to sun themselves).
Finally, after the boat trip we were invited to see the "nuisance alligators" and walk around the park. The alligators (including babies and rare breeds) were locked in small cages and compelled to perform for the audience (the host dragged an alligator out of the water and then proceeded to stick his head in the alligator's mouth just so tourists could take a picture).
The staff also placed a lot of pressure on tipping, and that wasn't appreciated.
Overall, we felt it wasn't worth the time or money and wouldn't recommend the trip.
