Hello Allison,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your ballooning experience with us. We are saddened to hear that your excursion did not fully meet your expectations, as it is our goal to have every single guest who flies with us walk away with smiling faces and memories to last a lifetime.
Unfortunately, we do not describe our hot air ballooning experience as a sunrise experience, as we do indeed launch our balloons after the sun has risen. The reason for this is that as ballooning is very weather and wind dependent, and wind directions and speeds change once the sun has risen. In order to provide guests with the safest and most scenic flight, launching our balloons after the sun has risen is our standard operating procedure. To aid in avoiding this confusion, we utilize the terminology "morning hot air ballooning experience" to describe our morning balloon flights on our brochure, website and all other marketing materials, and do not use the term "sunrise". That being said, we never want to be misleading at all, and appreciate you bringing it to our attention that you felt the ballooning excursion would be a sunrise experience. We will address this internally to see how we can continue to make guest expectations closer to reality.
In terms of the flight itself, what is unique about hot air ballooning is that there is no steering wheel - you are floating purely with the wind speed and direction. That being said, every single flight is different in terms of where we launch and land (based on the morning's weather conditions), where the flight will take you, and what you will see. We love our animal friends as much as the next person, and trust us, we wish we could guarantee that you see them on every balloon flight!
As far as the cuisine goes, our menu is listed on our website and within our brochure. We are sorry to hear that the food itself did not meet your expectations, as our goal is to have the experience from start to finish be spectacular. We are always open to suggestions on how we can improve our operation, and would love to hear any suggestions on what would have made the breakfast experience more enjoyable. That being said, we are limited as to what we can provide, being that the breakfast is a pop up breakfast in the middle of the desert, and we do not have a standard kitchen facility on-site where you land, like you would with a restaurant.
Thank you again for your feedback Allison, we take your comments to heart, and appreciate them, as without them we would not be able to improve. If you have any additional suggestions on how we can improve, we are all ears. We can be reached via phone at (800) 831-7610 or via email at
