Let me start by saying you should avoid this business at all costs! The crummy operation has so many faults it's almost difficult to list them all. But I will start; First of all the app is a total piece of garbage. It doesn't give you a real time position of the buses and when changes are made to the pickup spots it's not registering. The audio tour is absolutely horrendous! It's read by two childish voices that have no sense of history or drama. It's infantile and sophomoric, and very condescending to the listeners. Most of it is trashy music and they're are long pauses without information being given. As we went by famous buildings, there was no description given about most of them. Trying to get help from the street hawkers was pretty much useless. They have heavy accents and most are polite but they just want to sell you a package. We walked around Times Square 8 to 10 blocks going from one stop to another and back again, these people hadn't a clue.. Internal communication between the vendors is non-existent at best, and horrible from central office. Seats on the bus are hard plastic and Ill formed, it's difficult to keep your butt to the back of the seat without sliding out. The good thing about having a broken audio port is that I couldn't get the volume any higher which is a blessing because of the chattering and all the blah blah blah that is on the audio track I couldn't take it any higher. I suppose I could go on, but why it beat a dead horse. That's what this Hop on Hop off is, a dead horse!

My daughters, my sister and I just did a "girls long weekend" in NYC and we purchased the 1 day Big Bus Pass. When we arrived at Times Square - Ahmed was so incredibly helpful with our group and printed out our passes and organized everything for us. He scheduled a time for us to do the Empire State Building and then talked to us about the option of adding a 2nd day to the bus pass for only $20 per person. We decided to add the 2nd day and it was such a great decision. We had heard going into our trip to avoid the subways in NYC as there has been a lot of violence, robberies, etc. The Big Bus was absolutely amazing and the 2 day pass allowed us to see so much of the city in a safe and fun way. We did the Uptown and downtown loops and used the bus to get to the Musuem of Ice Cream on the 2nd day. The bus was so convenient - it comes to each stop every 10 minutes or so -and we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. The drivers are all so friendly and fun and really added to our NYC experience. We also ran into Ahmed a few times while we were taking the bus over the 2 days and he remembered our group and was extremely kind and helpful each time we saw him. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a safe and entertaining way to city and explore the city! We will definitely do it again!
