We used the bus tours to get us out and about. Usually you get different people doing the talking. Thankfully it is live so no prerecorded. They all have their own spin on the areas so we fly we learnt a lot about the city. The buses weren't the cleanest nor were they the most comfortable but regular times meant there wasn't too long to wait around Sadly only 1 bus route runs into the evening but thats only until 7pm which meant the day was cut short. Also the day runs only on the day you activate it not 24 hrs from the point of activation. We lost a few hours use because of this. My favourite route was over the Manhattan bridge at night. The view across the river was breathtaking.

My tour was really nice , When we got on the Bus the driver was a female she was very funny spoke very nice showed us a few places to visit .So we walked around in China Town and got back on the bus and amazingly the same driver I was so happy 🙂

I took the downtown tour in the morning as part of my NY Pass ticket. I've done a few of these around other cities in the world and the tour is only as good as the guide. On this occasion our tour guide only spoke during the prerecorded information, meaning we couldn't hear that, and when he did speak he offered no real actual information on the city. He spent the majority of his time complaining about the British, taking about London or England, which is pointless as I've come from London I don't want to hear about London I want to hear about New York. Also if your primary language is English and your audience is from England, to constantly make "jokes" about the English borders on Xenophobic. Also when I collected my ticket from the tout he complained as "he didn't make any money from me because I had a pass" which baring in mind I'd spent $400+ on, I think that is terrible customer service. Avoid unless it's free.
