The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

The guides were knowledgeable and the area is very nice. Out of the 90 minutes you will spend 2 to 3 minutes in one cave. The rest of the time you will be paddling along the shore. They have only 1 restroom and no place to rinse off. I am not sure how well the equipment is cleaned, my wife rented a wetsuit and got a rash all over her legs, arms and torso. If you have kayaked before just rent one and go out.

David, Thank you for reaching out and thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We hope we can offer our condolences and assurance that the safety and health of our customers is paramount and truly believe this was an isolated incident. We wash all of our wetsuits thoroughly and intentionally with environmentally safe anti-bacterial and antimicrobial detergent on our wetsuits, helmets and vests as well as bleach on all of our plastic gear. Further, we rotate out old/worn stock regularly. Frankly, we are proud that we do not have this issue with our customer base - and we rent a lot of wetsuits! Risk of bacteria is inherent when entering the ocean so we are very intentional with our cleaning processes. We have no intention of discrediting you, nor assuming any exaggeration and will absolutely be sure to double back with our staff regarding wetsuit etiquette. Excellent guides made this tour safe comfortable and educational. I recommend renting a wet suit and a locker.

Devin and Ezekiel were wonderful tour guides. The 11:00 appointment was enjoyable because it wasn't too hot or too cold.
