Was our second visit there. It's a nice park in the heat of Arizona with many animals.
We've been told lots of them are rescues.
Well, animals have nice fenced-in areas which seem to be better than in classic zoos. They had baby lions, so cute, I think they take good care of. But they are still in captivity and I'm really not sure what to make of this. But it's better for them to live there as in a small apartment in a city where one senior was rescued out.
We touched a snake, but I think the snake must have been stressed out because of the many people. I felt sorry for her. But the staff seemed to keep an eye on her so she won't get harmed.
They have wildlife, amphibians and even cats in the gift shop.
To be honest, I was shocked to find a cat locked in an aviary. They said it's because they are about to close soon and they don't want to look for her. There also were birds in the shop, I think rescues too.
The park is well groomed, staff is nice and I love the open area where animals have lots of space to run around.
We saved money at the entrance because we were a little late (3 pm). That was nice.
It's an 1 1/2 hour drive from Scottsdale. And it's really HOT, be prepared.
