We booked our tickets online in advance, but were surprised to find out we also had to pay $10 for parking when we arrived. Seems like a money grab.
They loaded the tram with quite a few people on the way up. It was great that the tram rotated, so that everyone got a great 360 degree view.
It was extremely hot in the valley, and slightly cooler at the top. We had expected a much bigger swing in temperature. We didn’t do any of the hikes, but we went to each of the outdoor areas at the Mountain Station to enjoy the view in every direction. We also stopped for a snack at the Pines Cafe. Prices are high, so you might want to bring your own snacks. You could spend many hours there.
The ride back down was just as beautiful, with magnificent views from the tram.
