The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

The Tram ride going from the desert to a lush green mountain top experience. Our dining experience was okay. I’d suggest having a cocktail at the lounge and dining somewhere in Palm Springs. The service was great but the ribeye was full of fat. They need to upgrade their quality of red meats.

This is an activity worth doing. I’ve done it on both of my trips to PS. The tram ride is very quick and smooth. You get a 360 degree view on the way up and down (the tram rotates). And with trips every 15 minutes, the waiting time is not tedious. There are trails to hike at the top that give great views of the valley and gives you the chance to spot some of the local wildlife. There is a restaurant and cafe at the mountain station. The food is very good as well so you can fuel up before tackling the trails.

I thought we were only paying for the lift but the experience was greater than that. There are many trails for hiking, spots for a picnic, and free guided hikes. Take your water, comfortable clothes, and shoes.
