The drive from Tooele to the Onaqui HMA will take approximately 45 minutes & once we arrive at the range, there are various locations where we will begin to look for the herd grazing, resting or coming to/from the watering holes. Depending on where the horses are located, there will be walking involved, so close toed shoes are required, and dressing in layers is also recommended.

During your time in the field you will receive one on one photography instruction to help you improve your technical skills as well as your ability to creatively frame an image. Achieving beautiful wildlife photographs is about more than just being in the right place at the right time, it's about seeing the possibilities of the scene unfolding in front of you through the lens. Please bring your cell phone and/or camera but no external light sources or drones.

Detailed info. about the individual horses, families and herds is also provided throughout our time on the range.

Min age is 10 years old.

Guests will be driven along the historic Pony Express Trail from Lookout Pass down into the Skull valley on the way to view and photograph the wild Onaqui mustangs. Historical points of interest may be seen along the way and brief stops for photographic opportunities are made available.

My adult daughter and I booked the trip with Jen and it was amazing. Not only did Jen take us out to the range where the horses were, but she explained all about their behavior, what to watch for and what to expect. This allowed us to be ready for photographic opportunities. I would consider it very unlikely to have the photo success we had without Jen’s guidance. She is a wonderful guide and just overall great lady.

Jen Rogers took me directly to the wild horse herd. She’s very knowledgeable about the herd and their habits. We headed to the watering hole in anticipation of their next stop. Jen nailed it. I got lots of great photos and enjoyed my time with her and the herd.

My friend & I had 2 terrific Wild Horse Safari Tours with Jen Rogers - late afternoon & early morning. I've been on multiple other wild mustang photo tours, but the ones with Jen were the best! She was an exceptional guide: on time, helpful, friendly, and great company. Jen knew where to find the herds, the histories of the horses & their families, & was great about imparting her knowledge. She anticipated herd behaviors, which allowed us to be camera-ready when action was imminent. She was considerate of our needs & we never felt rushed, intimidated, or in any danger. Overall-a great experience!
