Just the facts-
Tour was to start at 8:30. I called company at 8:30 as building was locked and unattended. I was informed tours were now beginning later at 9:00 and that not everyone had been called to update plan.
The land the horses are on are open to the public. The herd was visible from the highway, just had to pull into the land management drive.
Private vehicles can take any road in the managed area, commercial vehicles (ie tour) cannot and are bound to certain ones.
Tour vehicle was a regular old Ford passenger van...without working a/c.
There are signs that tell you how close you can get to horses. The roads in the management area did have some bigger ruts, there are cacti, and we were told rattlesnakes.
My opinion-
If you have any sort of vehicle with some clearance and mild sense of adventure, take yourself and save a boatload of money. You’ll probably even have a/c.
If you enjoy a little info from the guide, have a car, or just don’t feel like driving yourself then this might be enjoyable for you. Either way, the horses were fun to watch and worth the trip out of Cody.

I’m so sorry that you did not enjoy your tour.Nationwide staffing issues hit us pretty hard this summer. If one person did not show up for work then it’s been difficult to call in another.Unfortunately air conditioners do go out in vehicles some times and we did have the a/c fixed. We have had to change availability for our tours due to lack of staffing. We appreciate people’s patience during these times. We have had to limit bookings. Most guests book their vacations during the winters and lady winter we did not know that we would have staffing issues. We hope that future guests will understand and let us prove that we are trying the best we can.
