With 30 years of teaching experience, a NM Level 2 Art Teaching license, 10 years of experience as the founder and executive director of the Tarnoff Art Center(a 501c3) based here in the Santa fe area, and the current co-owner of Artful Soul Creative Experiences in Downtown Santa Fe, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her classes. As she is dedicated to guiding students on their artistic journey . Laura graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she underwent a rigorous academic art education. Her disciplined training included studying the human figure and mastering various traditional art mediums such as pastels, oil painting, watercolors, pen and ink, and much more. Laura's own artwork is a testament to her vibrant and painterly style, ranging from tight realism to wild non-objective abstractions. Known for her "Figurative Abstractions," Laura infuses her work with emotionally charged colors, figurative distortions, and expressive brushstrokes.

Excellent…. We enjoyed the experience Laura and Mickey are very personable and talented. Our class enhanced our appreciation of Georgia O’Keefe’s talent and genius, We would recommend taking a class prior to visiting the Georgia O’Keefe’s Museum.

Laura gave us lots of personal attention for our class. In addition to the actual painting, Laura discussed color blending, perspective, and some color theory. Neither of us have had any formal art education, and we learned so much in the class. Laura is very personable and ensured that we were comfortable and having fun.

Mickey and Laura provide such a fun painting experience. I learned a lot and went home without a beautiful painting. I highly recommend this class to experienced painters as well as those who've never had their hands on a paintbrush. I love their painting choices that are our "models."
