So interesting. The audio tour was great and very informative. Definitely wear good shoes and try to travel light, lots of climbing stairs and narrow hallways

We drove to SD for an overnight to explore the waterfront area. We decided to tour the USS Midway. We spent 3 hours there- and could have spent more. We started with the 15 min movie which was informative and moving. A brief history lesson to remind us how brave Americans changed the direction of the world by preventing the Japanese from invading the US. We walked through the different areas of the ship. There were free audio devices available so you could here more about each area. There were volunteers in yellow caps all over the ship waiting to answer questions and share stories. On the flight deck, there were former naval pilots giving talks about the launching and landing on the naval carriers! Fascinating stuff! And it was so cool to see all the planes and helicopters up there! Perhaps our favorite part of the day was spent on the “land tour”- I think that’s what it was called. It was a 25 min guided tour of the chart room and bridge! It was a great experience. I hope my children and grandchildren can someday experience this as well. God bless America!

Both us and our kids (3 boys 11&13) enjoyed it, lots to see and do so give yourself plenty of time. Worth the money and the visit.
