Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are St Pete's top rated kayak tour company and focus exclusively on small groups and private tours. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Come explore with local professionals who love what they do and see the difference for yourself.

Great guide. Beautiful area of Florida. We learned a lot about nature in this area. It was a peaceful place for a kayaking adventure.

The tour guide was great and provided historic and wild life information along the way at a good pace. She also was a wealth of knowledge for the the two in our party who were local - willing to share GPS locations of the tunnels we went through so they could come on their own. We had two experienced kayakers and two novice kayakers in our group and the varied pacing gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy without feeling exhausted. The winds were perfect for us to go to the north beach after winding thru mangrove tunnels. The mangrove tunnels were truly beautiful and a welcomed relief to the 90 degree weather we were having. I wasn’t expecting a swim break and that was absolutely the best about an hour and a half into the paddle.
