Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

My family of 4 (two kiddos - 11 & 8) had an amazing experience on March 30, 2021 with Crystal River Water Sports on the VIP Manatee Tour. The boat ride was beautiful, and Captain "Slow" Jim was a very knowledgeable captain. Our tour guide Wendy was especially awesome. She was fun, knowledgeable, and a joy to be around. Together Wendy & Slow Jim made our experience extra special. Even though it was late in the season, we were able to find a group of friendly manatees and swim with these gentle giants. I would highly recommend the VIP tour - you are afforded a much more private experience, complete with warming jackets, hot chocolate, and underwater photography. Crystal River Water Sports has a great respect for the local environment and take extra care to protect the wildlife. We will be back to scallop in the summer season!

Ross and Emerson went above and beyond to make sure everyone on the tour got a close up and personal view of the manatees. They also take pictures of the manatees for future use if you want to purchase them. Instructions were clear and thorough during the whole process and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area!

Capt. Troy and Derrick our guide took great care of us on our tour this past Sunday, 3/28/21. This time of the year the manatee are still around but you have to find them. We had a great tour and were able to swim with two manatee for about an hour as they ate, swam, and surfaced. What a great experience observing the manatee in their natural environment doing their thing! Thank you Capt. Troy and Derrick for a great tour!
