I have no idea how I came across Snorkel Alaska but I am so happy that I did! Booking the trip online was super easy and I was able to include the cruise ship that I would be arriving on. Always a little nerve wracking booking excursions outside of the cruise line but Fred and his team allayed any concerns I had. The pick up was super easy, I was a little late getting off the boat due to the sheer number of people trying to get off that morning. I texted Fred and let him know my ETA and he let me know that all was good. A quick and easy van ride to the shop includes a general safety briefing and the most important one was, "if you think you are going to be cold in the water, that is the least of your worries today!" By the time we got to the shop we knew what to expect and got into our wetsuits picked out by the crew based on your height, weight and shoe size. My wet suit was spot on and all of the gear was in great shape. We loaded up into the "wet van" and had a two minute ride to Mountain Point. The equipment truck met us there and we finished gearing up mask, snorkel, fins and optional weight belt. A photo op and a walk down to the water where our guides gave us a site intro. The water was so clear and immediately we started seeing all the cool stuff underwater. During the trip the guides dove down and brought up starfish, sea cucumbers and sea urchins, safely placing them back where they were found when down. All told we were in the water for a bit over an hour but, we had a small group I wouldn't expect that with a full trip. We had plenty of opportunity to swim around, dive down and explore the areas that they identified for us. Dungeness crab, wolf eel, kelp perch and a super fast salmon were all sighted. 10/10 would do this again and recommend to anyone who's interested in the underwater world.
