Overall, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the sunset cruise! The sunset was gorgeous and the company on board made the experience enjoyable. The waitresses did a great job and the chef came out at the end to shake everyone’s hand and talk about the food/boat. Although a lot of the reviews state that the voyage is rough / could make you seasick, I found it fine as a person very much prone to nausea (although that may be because I popped a zofran beforehand but everyone seemed fine). Definitely a great way to spend the evening. On the other hand, I don’t think I would go again knowing how much I paid and what I got for it. As most of the reviews state, there is no difference between the premium upper deck seating ticket and the ticket for the main cabin because they let you sit anywhere you’d like and no one is checking which ticket you paid for. So there’s an extra 40 bucks I spent for no reason. I do think this may be an issue specific to viator. When I went back and tried to purchase a ticket, I realized it immediately tries to check you out at the premium tier. So if you purchase the tickets on your phone, make sure to scroll down and click the main deck option on the checkout page. Additionally, it’s byob if you want to have an alcoholic drink which isn’t the end of the world but for the price, feels like a bar would be included on the boat. Furthermore, the food is definitely not the draw of this cruise. If you want great views and just a relaxing time, go for it! But the dinner options are very limited (only a fish or beef option) the portion is pretty small and it will definitely not be the best meal you ever had. Finally, I would say the reviews that say the boat is dated and that the cruise itself lacks any entertainment are true — although this didn’t personally bother me. But I think if you purchased this expecting a luxury experience or something more elevated, you’re better off spending a little more money and doing a different cruise. If you’ve ever taken a tour of the puget sound in Seattle - that’s what the boat is like. So it’s as is if they put little tables in front of the bench seats and then turned on a speaker with all different types of music and that’s the extent of the experience. In sum, I’d have zero complaints if each tickets was like 30/35 bucks cheaper but I think at that price point you might expect a little more than what you end up with.
