Drive up along the shores of Lake McDonald and stop at the Lake McDonald Lodge. Your guide is well versed in park history and tales of the bears in Glacier National Park. Take photos out on the dock of Lake McDonald and enjoy the scenery.

Apgar Visitor Center

Enjoy the historic area of Apgar Village. View the crystal clear waters of Lake McDonald, stroll around the area and learn about the history of the park. Admission is included upon purchase of your National Park Pass at the entry.

Our guide, Carl, was a great guy! The tour was good. It was a private tour so maybe a little input into the itinerary would’ve been nice. I think we would’ve passed on the dam and preferred a little more time in the park. Maybe a short hike in the park? We would’ve done lunch earlier so a different order of events? The lunch at Polebridge was delicious but we didn’t get there until just after 1:00p. They had both hot and cold sandwiches and the pastries were sooooo good!! We didn’t have a GTSR pass so this was our way in. Knowing what I know now I’d have gone to Lake McDonald on our own after 4pm and driven ourselves to Polebridge. That being said, it’s a good option if you’d prefer not to be on your own!

A wonderful day of seeing the beauty of the Hungry Horse, Polebridge, and West Glacier areas. Lori was a superb guide; quick to share information and equally quick to laugh and share the beautiful scenery. The tour was paced quite well for us; and we enjoyed every minute. Hats off to Lori and Whitefish Outfitters!

We had a great time! Our tour guide, Andy, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of tips and suggestions that really paid off during our vacation. He took several family pictures for us at great locations and we even went on a hike. Highly recommend!
