The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee

It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Booking was very easy. Arrival on our tour day was efficient, and we were on our helicopter quickly. Michael Brooks was our pilot, and he was great at explaining things that we saw as the tour progressed. Landing on the glacier not once but twice was phenomenal, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The dog sledding experience was amazing! Will was our Musher, and he took his time to explain how things would work and what we needed to do. He told us all about each dog and their background. We loved taking turns steering the sled, and having time with the dogs after the ride was definitely a highlight. Landing on the second glacier was astounding all over again, being up close to one of the beautiful blue pools of water and being able to taste it. I wish we could have stayed out there all day! This experience is definitely worth it if you are visiting Alaska. One you will never forget! Highly recommend Alaska Helicopter Tours.

This was an amazing experience! Our pilot and musher were both wonderful, and my kids (13 and 9) both said it was one of the coolest experiences they have ever had!

This was the most amazing experience of our trip to Alaska! Seeing the mountains and glacier from above was a view we will never forget. Our dog sled guide, Isaac, was incredible and taught us so much about the Iditarod and his dogs. We loved every minute of it!
