The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

Totally worth it! The driver picked us up at our hotel in Anchorage and it wasn’t a bad drive. We saw 2 bears and several moose and the dog mushing experience was amazing. Fun to drive the dogs and meet them. Breathtaking.

Shane Cotton was our pilot…we will request him again. Fabulous piloting and great knowledge of the area and what has happened and is happening in the area. When we saw the bears in the mountain, he circled around so we all could get a good view. He would point out other wild life. We saw, moose, mountain goats, sheep, brown and black bears. While on the iceberg he was with us and kept us in the safe areas. Hands down the best pilot and tour guide! Would recommend. 6 out of 5 stars, would do again…if Shane was the pilot.

We had the most amazing experience with this company and the adventure! They were extremely knowledgeable sharing fun facts and history, were very kind, and we felt safe the entire time. Would not recommend a company and this specific tour more!
