The experience was worsened by the weather, but from the start, we were treated like cattle and spoken to like we were idiots. There was nothing done to help us enjoy the experience, and we decided not to do the uptown trip as we could not find anyone at the bus stand as we were directed. We complained to a member of staff and they were adamant that someone was there "by law they have to be there" but then told us that he may have gone for lunch. It would have been cheaper to just get around on local buses, and we would have had the same experience. Very disappointed!

I'll list the positives first - it was a nice day and not too hot, so the upstairs deck was nice and it did provide a good overview tour of New York. Some of my party had never been and it allowed for them to see areas we may not have visited given we were only in the city for one day - which was why we decided to do the bus tour. Lots of negatives, however. By far the most annoying was when we first picked up the bus near stop 9 (Wall Street). The attendant was VERY annoyed at the fact I pre-purchased our tickets online - said repeatedly that "I have a family to feed - next time buy from me". Well dude, so do I and I purchased online to save myself some money. The guy was a jerk. The second was out of their control - a massive traffic issue on the west side of Manhattan caused us to take an hour to go from Downtown to Midtown. However, the bus driver (to his credit tried to improvise) went down an alternate street trying to save some time - but got stopped as the bus wouldn't fit between two parked cars on 52nd Street. We hopped off the bus and walked over to Central Park from there. Never even bothered to try the Blue route. We did pick up the bus later in the day to go from Times Square back down to walk the Brooklyn Bridge - this time without a hitch. The audio track is fairly useless - it has some interesting tidbits of information, but mostly plays NY-themed music and isn't particularly good. Overall, I would not repeat a Big Bus tour in NYC. If this is indicative of how it works in other cities, I will not use them either. I've always used the subways and/or buses without issue, and will do that in the future. This certainly wasn't worth the $360 I paid for essentially a ride to Midtown and a ride back Downtown.

We used go city to purchase our pass. There were no glitches. The audio tour would often just be playing New York songs. Many people weren’t even listening to the audio.
