If you are like me and didn’t want to try and navigate the public transportation system then this is definitely the way to go. Sitting up on top could be cold so make sure to bring a blanket because you can’t see much if you sit on the bottom.

We tried to go from the bus to pier 61 for the Liberty boat tour and were given the run around, to the pier, to battery Park, to the print tickets, back to the pier, never made it. Coming back on the bus with Anthony was great,.he was a.great guide. Our first guide was not informative and.not.funny, joking to sell condos in NYC was not entertaining.

The Liberty cruise operates from 2 Piers. Pier 83 is located at 42nd and 12th Ave and has departures at 10:00am. That Pier is accessible by our bus at Stop 13 on the Downtown Tour. You can also take the Cruise at Pier 16, which has departures at 10am, 11:30am, 12:45pm, 2:30pm, 3:45pm. We do not stop at that Pier, however, you may get off stop #11 Wall St and walk a small distance straight to the pier 16. This information is posted on all of our informational platforms including redeemed tickets. The guides are qualified to deliver a discussion that is both cultural and entertaining, to illustrate the past of different buildings and sites, and to provide information and facts regarding Manhattan. We appreciate that you provide the names and details of the tour guides and drivers you had on your journeys to [email protected], as this knowledge allows us to mentor and retrain. During a recent visit to the city, we got two-day passes for the Hop on Hop Off Big Bus. I've been to NYC close to a dozen times and it was my first time riding the bus. It is an an entertaining and informative way to visit major areas of interest in the city IF you have a great tour guide and IF you take a seat on the open air upper deck. The lower level is adequate if you just want to listen to the info and get from point A to point B. It's like taking an informative taxi ride. (Which we chose to do a few times to get were we needed without having to pay for a taxi or ride the subway.) The upper deck allows you to interact with the guide and get the best views of the landmarks that they are highlighting and pointing out. I will caution -- not all guides are created equal. The beauty of the ticket is that you have the freedom to get OFF the bus if you aren't enjoying the guide. Buses come through every 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. You might just be lucky enough to hop on the bus that Dwayne is working. He was our favorite guide by far -- knowledgeable, happy, engaging and respectful. A great value and easy way to tour the city while learning more about Manhattan!
