We used the Big Bus Tour (Hop on, Hop off) as part of our Go City pass. It was a great way to see both Downtown and Uptown and even better that we were given an additional day to use our ticket on these, thanks to President's Day! Staff were really friendly and very knowledgeable. It took us to all the destinations we wanted to go and as first timers to NYC with teens, it was the ideal way to familiarise yourself with the city, plus it saved us from a lot walking in subzero conditions, although wrap-up warm it's breezy up top.

We done this on our first day so it was good to get all the way round so we knew what to do on our long weekend we enjoyed all the information that was told

the audio guide is terrible would be ok for children but as an adult who had never been to new york before it didn't explain anything to me. we went on both uptown and downtown tours and both were poor quality. The stops for these buses are nowhere near some of the attractions it advertises e.g. the statue of liberty cruise/battery park stop is actually up a quite dodgy back street about half a mile away from the entrance to battery park( not exactly close ). the uptown route we finally boarded after waiting 45mins for one to come was horrible. the driver drove like crazy through the streets running red lights and slamming the brakes on when traffic in front stopped causing us to be thrown around on the bus.
