Ця екскурсія присвячена пошуку найкращих місць для ламантинів і використанню наших прозорих байдарок, щоб забезпечити вам найкращий огляд, не промокнувши! Кришталева річка відома як «Світова столиця ламантинів». У цьому турі ми хочемо, щоб наші гості відчули ламантинів у їхньому природному середовищі існування. Кришталева річка живиться десятками природних джерел, тому вона є гарячою точкою у «холодніші» місяці Флориди. У період з листопада по березень сотні ламантинів мігрують углиб країни до джерел, щоб знайти притулок і зігрітися. Ми не можемо контролювати, де вони можуть бути в цьому районі, але наші досвідчені гіди відведуть вас туди, де вони найбільш активні! Хоча ламантини є нашою основною метою цього туру, ми часто бачимо дельфінів, риб, черепах, птахів тощо! Let me start this by saying I have been looking forward to doing a kayaking trip with manatees for about four years. I’m sad to say this was incredibly disappointing. Granted, we went on a rainy day, so the water wasn’t clear, we were drenched and it was freezing. Our tour guide let us know he wasn’t one of the normal guides, he had just been hired during Covid so I’m definitely cutting him a little slack, however... he left us! He did his best to keep the tour interesting at first but when it was time to paddle back, he was gone. I was with a group of three adults and three children, and which one child was in each kayak. We were left to our own devices to find our way back, even though the path is not hard, I did find it irritating that he would just leave novice kayakers with small children behind . One of the parents even got lost on the way back and took a detour that made her trip even longer. Needless to say, it was exhausting paddling back against the wind in the rain, we thought since the tour wasn’t canceled that it wouldn’t be so bad but now we’ve learned our lesson. If it’s raining on your day, cancel your trip. It’s not worth it. On a bright note, we did spot a manatee on the way back. (I love those big sea cows.)

First of all, we are so sorry for your disappointing tour. That does NOT sound fun or what we wish our guests to experience at all. Rainy days are hard to navigate, not to mention the wind being a factor, so we understand how frustrating that could be. In order to improve, it would be helpful to know which tour you were on so we can adequately address this with our team. Our guides are trained to keep the tour together and adjust for weather challenges, so we will definitely bring this up in order to keep this from happening in the future. We had an amazing time and would definitely use Get Up and Go Kayaking again! Our guide was fantastic and the clear kayaks were perfect to see the Manatees. Some of the baby Manatees were curious about the kayaks and we were able to get some great photos of them looking into the kayak. This tour was the highlight of our trip.

Saw 20 Manatees but it is the season. It does not always happen! The water is less clear during hi tide but you can still find some clear water and see the springs. Social distancing was not needed you were naturally separated. Florida is amazing with getting life back to normal
