“Vera Marie” raises the bar for fishing head boats “Party Boats”. She runs two fishing trips per day during the season and 1 trip per day during the off season when available. She is also excellent for corporate parties, holiday events, family reunions, weddings, bachelor/ette parties and more. The Vera Marie is a 70′ walk-around. She also has a Sun Deck, large Air-Conditioned salon and restrooms.

6 hour fishing trip ended up being a 45 min fishing trip. After a 2 hour boat ride out we fishing a reef for ~8 mins and off to the next spot. We fished there for ~5 mins and reeled in a bunch of fish we didn’t keep. The third spot everyone was reeling in fish and some keepers. After 10 mins we left for a new spot while people were having fun. Went to the last spot where we caught fish again and 5 mins there we were done. 2 hours later we were back in. Left the dock at 3:20 and returned at 8:15 (6 hour trip?)

Hi Arick thanks for fishing with us aboard Vera Marie party boat at Pelican Adventures on our 5 hour daily trip. The 6 hour trip is scheduled every morning and the afternoon trip is always scheduled for 5 hours but I'm sorry for any confusion. The confirmation by email and text reflects all details including the time of the trip that all customers receive when making the reservation. First of all the “air conditioning” was a couple of blowers “air” not conditioning setting in the seat. It was cooler out side. There was no water in the bathroom to wash our hands. The bar???? Well just bring your ice chest if you want a drink. Fishing??? We were on the boat forever before my son and I finally caught one small fish each. I actually wasn’t sure if it was the bait fish or something I caught at first. I feel that they have fish finders, they are supposed to know “hot spots” and that did not happen. There were 68 people on the boat. We spent most of the time being tangled up in each other’s lines because there was no room!!! I was expecting a fun experience for my son to catch fish. I suggest spending a little more money to hopefully get a better experience. I am very confused because all the reviews I read were great for this boat/booking. Maybe they take of any bad reviews.

Thank you for fishing Vera Marie party boat at Pelican Adventures in Destin. We appreciate your business and it's unfortunate you are not pleased from your trip. Vera Marie does have air conditioning however with doors opening all day and offshore with limited power it's never as cool as an office on land. The blowers are only to help with circulation, there IS air conditioning in the salon on the boat. And both restrooms on the boat have sinks with running water so I'm not sure what the problem was on your trip why it was not working for you. Pelican Adventures is running our 20th year fishing the Gulf of Mexico with great fishing spots secured by our experienced captains. There are many variables that affect the fish bite that is not necessarily something we can control - after all it's called fishing, not catching. Multi-passenger party boats are always challenged by tangled lines but for the budget minded customer this can be a great trip for the price and our deckhands are skilled to move fast around the deck and are trained to untangle lines. Consider a shared or private fishing charter to address the concerns you have mentioned. As far as reviews on Trip Advisor and everywhere else, Pelican Adventures has never deleted or edited anything provided by our customers or crew. In fact, this is public and we are unable to edit and proud of our reputation of excellence for the last 20 years. Thank you for your feedback and please take care!

A sh#^ ton of fun, laughter and joking around. My boys and I had a blast. We caught enough fish to feed 9 of us. Thanks for the adventure Vera Marie
