Our experience offers a showcase of what grows on Kauai in our regenerative food forest: A collection of exotic and delicious foods brought to Hawai`i from all corners of the globe. Coffee, pineapple, tree tomato, kava, mamak'i, heart of palm, papaya, bananas, and more! More importantly it demonstrates a model for how food can be grown in harmony with nature, planted in concert so there is no need for imported fertilizers and pesticides. The tour concludes with a family style meal to savor and enjoy while celebrating the delicious diversity that exists on Kauai all while exploring our mission here at Common Ground. 100% Island sourced because it should be, from the cooking oil to the seasonings. We enjoyed the whole experience. It was interesting to see how the farm put nature in harmony! I learned a lot about the local plants and soil. Our guide Sophie was knowledgeable and friendly! We enjoyed the dinner that sourced every ingredient straight from the farm!

I am a big fan of farm to table. My cousin, Dan Barber in NYC, was an initial proponent of Farm to Table, so I was curious about your experience. It did not disappoint. Our guide was passionate about his field and conveyed that to his guests. It was very informative and we all got a few pointers to take home with us to our respective gardens. We enjoyed the communal dining and enjoyed meeting the others at our table. Drinks and dinner were fabulous and what a satisfying feeling to know it was local, fresh from you farm! Common Ground is a must for anyone visiting Kauai! And we loved our hike to the waterfall. What a treat! I am a big fan! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We loved the concept yet thought the experience while good wasn't quite at the great level. The property is attractive. The current farm is interesting though somewhat small. Our tour guide was interesting but had a somewhat limited range of information to share if folks weren't asking lots of questions so the tour ended early. This may also have been impacted because we went in January/winter so there were limited plants blooming or fruiting. We had a similar view of the food -- it was tasty and included a nice diversity of plants --- but didn't feel it quite met the level of excellent. Some of the buffet serving style impacted this. However, the custom cocktails were unique and were excellent. Overall we enjoyed the experience but did think its price point was about 20% too high.
