Looking for some whitewater while avoiding white-knuckle rapids? The 3 hour Upper Half Day trip is perfect for families, first-timers who are timid, or for those who aren’t strong swimmers – especially in June when we have high water. Enjoy fun rapids such as Hilarity Hole, Screaming Left, and Killer Fang. These rapids offer plenty of splashes and relatively easy navigation without the challenge of long rapids like the Mad Mile. This trip is packed with splashes and smiles!

Our group had a great time! When we booked our trip, we weren't sure of the level of rafting we should take. So, when Merv asked us a few questions, we realized we needed to go to the more advanced trip and it was fantastic. Merv was very informative and the kids really enjoyed doing the 360 spin down on of the rapids. We would definitely do this again when we come up for a future trip. Thanks again.

We had a blast learning how to Fly Fish through Montana Whitewater. Our guide, Jamie, did a superb job of teaching us how to use a fly fishing rod, how to cast, what types of flies to use, and where to use them. Her lesson was very educational, and a lot of fun. We were in a small group of four. We began with a short lesson, practice casting, then we got into our waders and off to the river we went. The day was very cool (52F) but we casted into the Gallatin river, trying to emulate Mr. Brad Pitt, from " A River Runs Through it". After about an hour, I caught a little rainbow trout. The trip was a success for everyone! HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend this 4 hour activity for all family members. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Montana Whitewater does an excellent job at organizing, emailing, and are very professional and a lot of fun. Great fishing stories from Jamie. The equipment provided was top of the line.

The staff were professional and efficient. We went on the Upper River trip, and it had plenty of excitement! Our guide, Newby, got to know everyone, told us about his background and filled us in on the history of different parts of the river.
